Business Messaging Policy
Rules for lawful, expected and provider-compliant communications sent through ShipMsg.
Effective September 3, 2026
Customer identity and authority
A customer may use ShipMsg only for a business it is authorized to represent. Sender profiles, display names, contact details and message origin must be accurate. Customers must not impersonate another person or business, conceal the sender, or misstate their relationship with ShipMsg, Meta or another provider.
Consent and recipient expectations
Before contacting a recipient, the customer must have a lawful basis and all notices and consent required by applicable law and provider policy. For WhatsApp, the recipient must have provided the number and opted in to receive WhatsApp messages from the identified business. Consent records must identify the business, channel, purpose or message categories, source, time and evidence. Purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists are prohibited.
Opt-outs and suppression
Customers must provide a clear way to stop messages and honor every opt-out, block or withdrawal promptly, whether received through WhatsApp or another channel. Suppressed recipients must not be re-imported or contacted through list rotation, a different sender or a new campaign unless the recipient later gives valid new consent.
Provider rules
- Use approved templates whenever the provider requires them.
- Respect service windows, frequency limits, quality controls and messaging tiers.
- Do not evade classification, enforcement, restrictions or account review.
- Keep business profiles and recipient-facing support information accurate.
- Follow the provider's commerce, regulated-goods, government and political-use rules.
Prohibited messaging
Spam, phishing, fraud, malware, deceptive offers, unlawful discrimination, harassment, threats, exploitation, trafficking, sexual abuse material, illegal goods, deceptive political activity and communications that facilitate unlawful conduct are prohibited. Customers may not use ShipMsg for emergency dispatch, life-safety communications or any use where delay or delivery failure could cause death, personal injury or material harm.
Monitoring and enforcement
ShipMsg may validate consent state, suppress recipients, reject content, throttle traffic, pause campaigns, quarantine events, restrict senders, require remediation evidence or suspend service. Provider acceptance is not proof of legal compliance. Customers must cooperate with abuse, consent and provider investigations and preserve accurate evidence.
