Acceptable Use Policy

This policy protects recipients, customers, providers, and ShipMsg from abusive or unlawful use.

Effective September 3, 2026

Required conduct

Customers must identify the sending business, obtain and retain appropriate consent, use data only for disclosed purposes, honor opt-outs without delay, maintain accurate suppression lists, and follow applicable law and provider policies.

Prohibited conduct

  • Unsolicited, deceptive, fraudulent, threatening, exploitative, or unlawful communications.
  • Purchased contact lists, scraped identifiers, spam, phishing, malware, or credential theft.
  • Discrimination, harassment, sexual exploitation, trafficking, or content that endangers a person.
  • Impersonation, falsified consent, manipulated delivery evidence, or attempts to evade provider restrictions.
  • Security testing without authorization, service disruption, or unauthorized access.
  • Unlawful surveillance, location tracking, profiling, discrimination, or decisions that determine access to employment, housing, credit, insurance, health care, education, legal services, public benefits, or other essential opportunities.
  • Emergency dispatch, life-safety, weapons, military, intelligence, law-enforcement, political-campaign, or other provider-prohibited use.
  • Collecting or transmitting payment-card data, government credentials, health records, biometric templates, children's data, or other specially regulated information without a signed agreement expressly authorizing the use case.
  • Using sandbox results as evidence that a real provider accepted or delivered a communication.

Enforcement

We may throttle, quarantine, reject, suspend, or terminate activity and preserve evidence when needed to protect recipients or the service. We may require proof of consent or a remediation plan before restoring access. We may preserve and disclose evidence when legally required, but do not voluntarily disclose customer content merely because a complaint is received. Report abuse to abuse@shipmsg.com.

Customer cooperation

Customers must investigate complaints, provide consent and authority evidence, stop affected traffic, preserve relevant records, and implement a reasonable remediation plan. A provider's decision to accept content does not waive this policy. Material or repeated violations may result in termination and may be reported to the provider or authorities where legally required.
